Jarod and I recently visited The Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington. We saw an exhibit called Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume. We previously saw the exhibit at D23 Expo 2019 in Anaheim, California.
The exhibit still started off with dresses from Cinderella films.
Here are two of Belle’s iconic outfits from Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson.
I enjoyed the cloud background behind the outfits from Mary Poppins Returns and Mary Poppins.
There were many sketches of outfits from Disney films across the years.
At the exit, there were costumes from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. In the background you can see the entrance of the exhibit, with the White Witch’s costume from The Chronicles of Narnia.
In the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, there is a stunt helmet mask from Iron Man.
You can also find Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber and the model of his hand!
Yesterday I went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At 7 am, I got boarding group 17 for Rise of the Resistance. I arrived at the park around 9:45 am.
I got in line for Star Tours and waited about 20 minutes. I was the rebel spy on my flight and it was very exciting! I had to do a double take because I couldn’t remember ever being the rebel spy before.
I got in line for Rise of the Resistance and the ride went smoothly. I was in a vehicle with 2 other groups.
I saw a stormtrooper keeping watch as guests posed for photos.
Inside the Walt Disney Presents gallery, the Monsters Inc. Experience meet and greet area is open to walk through and take photos.
Near the theater there were costumes on display from Descendants 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Cruella.
Walking down Sunset Boulevard, I ordered a pumpkin spice cookie as a snack. It is available for the Halloween season until October 31.
I got in the single rider line for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. It took about an hour for me to get on the ride.
I stopped by the gift shops on my way out of the park. I saw some new Marvel Loungefly bags. I left the park around 12:30 pm.
I recently went on a 3-night test cruise aboard the Disney Dream. This was my first ever cruise with Disney! I went with my boyfriend and his mom.
We boarded at about 3 pm. Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie were up on the stairs greeting us.
We ate at Cabanas for lunch and I enjoyed the Finding Nemo theming. We went to our stateroom and our luggage was at the door.
We had a verandah room and it was clean and fairly large for a cruise ship room! It was fun to sit on the balcony and look at the view.
Our first dinner was at Royal Palace. I ate cheesy ravioli and creme brûlée, and our server brought opera cake for our group to split.
After dinner we saw the Beauty and the Beast stage musical. My favorite part was “Be Our Guest” and let’s just say the “food” had lots of sparkles!
The next morning we went to Castaway Cay! It was my first visit there and I took photos of the Disney decor.
The Pelican Plunge slides were closed and blocked off.
Jarod and I swam in the ocean and had lunch at Cookie’s BBQ. We went back on the ship around 3 pm. We rode on the AquaDuck water slide and it was very fun!
For dinner we went to Animator’s Palate. We talked to Crush the sea turtle, and we did the wave with the other diners!
We went back to the Walt Disney Theatre to watch the new film Jungle Cruise.
At 10:30 pm we watched the Disney Ever After fireworks show.
The next morning we had breakfast at Cabanas around 8:30 am.
At 10 am we went back to Castaway Cay and saw some Disney characters during our tram ride.
Jarod and I went kayaking at 11 am for about half an hour.
We ate lunch at Serenity Bay, the adults-only area of the island. I had a veggie burger, fruit, banana bread, and lemonade. After lunch, we went paddleboarding in the ocean. It was fun but it was windy and quite hard to stand on the board! We said goodbye to Castway Cay and got back on the ship around 4 pm.
For our final dinner, we ate at Enchanted Garden. There was a short performance from Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto as they danced around the restaurant.
We went to Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats. We got the Go-Kart Sundae and our gelato flavors were Kit Kat, Cookie Dough, and Caramel Sea Salt. We sat outside by the pools to eat and the movie Moana was playing on the video screen.
The final musical show was called “Believe” and it featured hit songs from different Disney films!
The next morning we packed our bags before going to Enchanted Garden for breakfast. I ate the mix of pancakes and waffles called “For a Sweet Journey” and drank hot chocolate. We got our bags from our stateroom, looked at our cruise photos, and debarked the ship. I don’t think the weather could have been nicer for our trip and I would love to go on another Disney cruise soon!
Disney Cruise Line has modified their ships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the changes include:
All guests must be fully vaccinated or test negative for COVID.
Masks were required in indoor areas.
Food and drinks at Cabanas were handed to you.
Hand sanitizer was required before eating meals or going into shops.
Disney characters had distanced meet and greets.
Musicals and movies had distanced seating.
Small areas like bars had lower capacity.
The AquaDuck water slide had distance markers in line.
